A look at some of the outdoor spaces Mike and his crew have built, from the first drawing to the day the family moved outside to enjoy it.

Project 01
SkyLift Patio Cover in Caldwell
Patio cover
SkyLift technology
Caldwell, ID
Before
The family had a concrete patio slab behind the house, but nothing over it. With no shade or shelter, the space went mostly unused through Idaho’s hot summers.
What we built
Mike created the drawings, obtained the permits from the city, and built a comfortable full-length patio cover with ceiling fans, matched to the home’s colors and roofline.
It was built with SkyLift technology. Instead of cutting into the home’s roof, the cover attaches at specific connection points, which can save up to 40% compared with a traditional tie-in.
The result
A shaded, breezy outdoor room the family now enjoys every day.
Drawings by Kemsley
City permits handled
Ceiling fans installed
No cutting into the roof
“Did a good job on my patio, it looks very nice. My wife and I enjoy it very much.”

Composite Deck Replacement in Boise
Deck
Composite decking
Boise, ID
Before
The homeowner’s old wood deck had started to rot and was becoming unsafe to use.
What we built
Mike and his crew tore out the old deck completely and built a new one from composite decking, with wide wraparound steps that lead down to the lawn from two sides.
Composite won’t rot like wood and doesn’t need expensive upkeep like sanding and re-staining, and it’s backed by a 50-year material warranty.
The result
A safe, low-maintenance deck that’s still looking great, ready for dinners outside and evenings around the fire for decades to come.

Project 03
Three-Car Garage in Prairie
Garage
Remote site
Prairie, ID
The challenge
Prairie is a remote spot, far from town and from the usual suppliers. Building here takes careful planning and a crew that’s willing to make the trip.
What we built
A 964 square foot, three-bay garage attached to the home. The first bay is a separate heated room the owners use for exercise and for storing bicycles and motorcycles.
Mike’s crew used the same siding as the house, so the new garage blends in seamlessly and looks like it was always part of the home.
The result
The project came out amazing, and it shows that no job is too remote or too challenging for Mike and his team.

“Mike and the Kemsley Construction crew built us a 964 square foot, three bay attached garage in Prairie, Idaho.”

Project 04
Covered Cedar Deck with a View
Deck
Covered deck
What we built
A covered deck built to take in the wide-open view: wood decking, wraparound railings and a roof framed with exposed timber beams and knee braces.
Mike handled everything from start to finish, including the plans and the drawing approvals, so the homeowner never had to deal with the paperwork.
The result
A sheltered spot to sit outside and watch the sun go down over the hills, built to last for years of evenings like this one.
Plans and approvals handled
Timber-framed roof
Wood decking and railings
Built around the view
“From when we started the process till my deck was done, Mike took care of all the plans and drawing approvals. He did a very professional and quality job.”

Project 05
Bathroom Remodel in Boise
Indoor project
Bathroom
Boise, ID
What we built
A fresh, modern bathroom built around a new soaking tub. The tub surround is finished floor to ceiling in large-format, stone-look tile, with a mosaic-tiled niche for shampoo and soap.
Underneath, the new floor tile was set over a waterproofing membrane using a leveling system, so every tile sits perfectly flat and the floor stays protected for years.
The result
A bright, clean bathroom the homeowner can’t stop talking about. Outdoor spaces are Mike’s favorite, but he brings the same care to every room inside the home.

Project 06
Monaco Home Remodel in Meridian
Indoor project
Stairs and entry
Tile shower
Meridian, ID
What we built
A remodel that refreshed this home from the front door up. Mike rebuilt the entry stairs and stairwell, updated the entryway and finished a fully tiled shower with a built-in tile niche, completing the bathroom from top to bottom.
The result
A brighter, more welcoming entry and a bathroom that feels brand new. Outdoor spaces are Mike’s favorite, but he brings the same care to every room inside the home.

Patio Cover with Tinted Panels in Boise
Shade & cover
Patio cover
Boise, ID
What we built
A patio cover with tinted roof panels that cut harsh sun and glare while still letting soft, filtered light through. The frame was built to match the home, so the cover looks like it was always part of the house.
The result
A patio that stays bright but comfortable on hot Treasure Valley afternoons, so the family can use it all summer long.
